Amadagana & Partners is pleased to have participated from 06 to 10 August 2023 in a symposium in Pretoria, South Africa on ”Building the Legal Profession in Africa under the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AfCTA)”.

Our associate Leonel Ako, Esq. took part in this symposium organised by the University of South Africa (UNISA). South Africa (UNISA), which brought together legal practitioners from from all jurisdictions on the African continent.

Discussions focused on the resolution of disputes under the AfCFTA regime, the evolution of legal practice in Africa, the recurrence of coups d’état in Africa and the threats they pose to Africa’s attractiveness to foreign investors, and arbitration in Africa.
The colloquium concluded with an exhortation to African jurists to strive to protect, preserve and and promote the rule of laws in Africa.
