Cabinet A&P was present throughout the Cameroon International mining and exhibition Conference (CIMEC 2019) organized by the Ministry of Mines, Industries and technological development (MINMIDT, under the high patronage of the Head of State, H.E Paul Biya.
The event started with the official opening ceremony attended by several Ministers, including the Minister of Mines, representatives of World Bank, Diplomatic Corps and other high-profile guests. The key highlight was the presentation by PRECASEM (project co-financed by the World Bank) off the results of five years of work, the discovery of 300 new mineral occurrences in Cameroon, thus new opportunities in the mining sector. This discovery makes Cameroon the next place to be for junior and major mining companies in Africa.
During the conference, various speakers, including our Managing Partner, Lynda Amadagana-Etogo, took the floor to discuss the issues relating to the mining sector in Cameroon. The regulatory, legal, financial and insurance frameworks, the related infrastructure, artisanal mining, governance and other issues were reviewed. Special hearings were also granted to mining companies by senior Cameroonian government officials.
Another highlight was the official visit of Cabinet A&P stand by various Ministers, including the Minister of Mines to whom our Managing Partner was able to present the firm and its expertise in the mining sector in particular.
CIMEC 2019 ended on a note of satisfaction for all participants.
